Injections aren't so bad

I made it through the two injections, one at L5/S1 & one at S1/S2.  It was painful at times.  They added some numbing substance in there which cools the pain down my leg for a few hours now.   I feel like I can almost walk normal.  The real medicine, the steroid anti inflamatory may take a day or many days before feeling a difference.  I was glad the proceedure went so smoothly.

transforaminal epidural steroid injection

Given that by the time I normally show up to work on Monday morning I will have already had this injection for which in addition to potentially not helping my back pain at all, might leave me with paralysis or dead altogether--I might as well party up this weekend (as much as can be expected while suffering severe lower back pain).  Whoohoo!

The specialist I saw today, Dr. Attaman, was very likable and assured me that the later two outcomes are very rare & he has never experienced these complications in the thousands of procedures he has performed.  Fingers crossed for good results Monday.

Pain in my ...

Yesterday I took another sick day because of my back.  I managed to go to physical therapy, my physician, the pharmacy, and the chiropractor.  I'm getting an MRI Monday and I see a back specialist physician Friday.  I'm on episode 27 of 42 of Entourage...

His image problem is not limited to the fact that he does not look like all the other presidents on the currency.  He also has a funny name and is unpatriotic.

Image over substance will determine the outcome in November.

Cafe Stellina

We had a delightful time at Cafe Stellina tonight.  We did not feel like the wait at trendy Quinn's and mozied over to Stellina. Angie often runs past it, but we've yet to try.  Fairly unique to Seattle and unlike many restaurants in Portland, Stellina has semi-outdoor seating with an open glass garage door front.  The fare is New American and that is just alright with me.

The place is cozy, like your living room with tables out for the occasion. Even the far corner of the kitchen can been seen from just about every table, everything is upfront about Stellina.  The staff were great and hands down the value beats most of what the Hill and puts forward.  Muy Bien!

Chroma

I'm really getting into Google's new browser Chrome.  Check it out.

I knew it was a good thing when out of the box it has a minimal footprint, just like I tweak my Firefox, but better.  It's here to stay.  Reading some of the technical and media write ups, this is pretty much one step closer to browser as OS.

Kalaloch

Something about the sound of the surf and the boundlessness of the Pacific horizon…  Camping at the beach is about as low stress as it gets and add to that three more couples of friends and for sure there will never be a dull moment.  It takes over 4 hours to get to the west coast of the Olympic Peninsula, so it deserves the extra time of a long weekend.  We car camped at Kalaloch campground and thanks to Pauline's diligence with the 9 month reservation; we managed to nab the quiet corner camp with the best view ever.  We also got to spend some quality time with two greyhounds of our friends Lori and Brian.  I kinda want a dog now, maybe we'll just babysit.
On the way back we stopped at another scenic stretch with large rock outcroppings and oval pebble beaches.  And what is a trip out to the peninsula without stopping for a dip in the Sol Duck hot springs at Olympic National Park—a first for us!
